The clients purchased this property with the dream of a major modification in mind. They wanted a natural flow from one living space to another, and to highlight the difference in living room floor heights as a benefit.

Modernising their home with new square-set plasterwork matched the sharpness of their new kitchen and flooring. With beautiful wooden picture framing and VJ cupboard door detailing, there was only one more thing to do: add two large skylights to light up the entire room.
This dated Mermaid Beach home needed some serious TLC from floor plan to floor coverings. By standing back and looking at the entire floor plan, we could see that smart design and utilisation of space meant we could create extra room for the kids, massively open up the kitchen, dining and lounge spaces, and create additional storage for the kitchen and laundry.
The kitchen was moving into the heart of the home so all services needed to be tracked through the concrete slab into their new position.
Our answer to seamlessly tying together different floor heights was a floating concrete step. This was a robust, modern solution that, with timber flooring top and bottom, tied the rooms together perfectly.
