Our clients came to us with a growing family, desperate for more space. Combining clever design and some space maximising ideas, we transformed their home into a sanctuary that will continue to cater to their family’s needs for many years to come.

We, at Purcell Homes, are passionate about creating spaces that not only look good, but feel good to live in too and we believe that starts with how a space is designed and built.
The family were still living in the home whilst renovations were taking place, so to safeguard their health, we were very particular about sealing off our work space so that building dust and materials did not enter their living areas.
We also wanted to bring as much light into this space as possible. The addition of a large skylight makes the kitchen not only a feature, but the highlight of this room.
There were periods of intense rain during this project and, unfortunately, a significant amount of mould and wood rot was discovered in part of the building that we were renovating. We were able to remedy the situation by replacing the damaged frame, improving the external drainage so that water tracked away from the home instead of towards it, wrapping (the renovated part of) the home in a vapour-permeable, weather-resistant barrier so mould won’t return, and ensuring all of our building materials were kept dry and clean throughout the build.
